Welcome to the Department of Economics at Stamford University Bangladesh. We are one of the leading pioneer departments offering to study BSS (Hons.) and MSS in Economics programs among all the private universities in Bangladesh. The Department of Economics at Stamford University Bangladesh has completed more than 18 years of the journey successfully since its establishment in 2005. This department strictly follows the Outcome Based Education (OBE) method for evaluating students.

I am very much honored to serve as head of the department with a vibrant group of faculty members who are enhancing our academic excellence and contributing to the overall quality and development of students. We have the Social Science Study Forum (SSSF) and Stamford Economics Students Forum (SESF) which ensure the participation of students in extra-curricular activities. These forums arrange seminars, quiz competitions, workshops, sports, picnics, cultural programs, etc. Students also take part in welfare-oriented programs such as participation in anti-smoking drives, helping the poor people through the distribution of warm clothes during winter,helping disaster-stricken people by giving aid, etc. We also have our peer-reviewed journal "Stamford Journal of Economics"which is published every year and focuses on essential research and aspects of various areas of Economics.
